Goodbye Sweden

This is the last post on this blog. I am leaving Sweden for good shortly, and will no longer be following its descent from what was once the third most prosperous country in the world. Frankly, it’s just too damn depressing.

I was born and raised in Sweden, which leaves a cultural mark even though I moved to USA in the 1990s and have spent the better part of my adult life as an American. Coming back for a few years has been a shocking experience.

When I was a child, Sweden was a dull yet very safe place to live. Yes, there was a heavy blanket of socialism and collectivist values covering everything, but there was a core of pragmatism beneath the redness. The intention and goal was always to benefit the citizens, even though they went about things in a backwards manner.

Prime minister Löfven
Today, it’s as if the inmates are running the asylum. The politicians are participating in a chicken race of “goodness” where everybody tries to one-up each other in caring for the citizens of OTHER countries while Swedish retirees, school children, handicapped and other vulnerable categories of people are thorougly ignored. Violence is exploding. Jihadist Trojan horses are flowing through the porous border along with the tens of thousands ID-less refugees.

But what makes me the most pessimistic about Sweden’s future is how the social fabric itself has been undermined.

Now, to be clear, it is my opinion that modest immigration is healthy for society and beneficial for trade, cultural development and so forth. Protectionism as a concept is counter-productive, while free trade and the ability for skilled labor to go where they’re in demand is beneficial for everyone.

Having said that, what Sweden is doing is something completely different. The once homogenous population has been forever altered by a rapid and massive addition of people from vastly different cultures and value-systems. 26,8% of the population is now foreign-born or with at least one foreign-born parent, and the national census bureau estimates that some 150 000 per year will arrive to the country of just 9,8 million residents.

There simply is no possible way to absorb and assimilate such volumes of people, period. Then you are merely creating ethnic enclaves, which due to incompatible language, culture and job skills become ghettos, which in turns brews crime, misery and extremism. Once the inflow has exceeded the capacity for absorbtion, further immigration only makes the problem worse.

It’s like someone having read that a cup of green tea per day is healthy, so they make it a policy to chug four gallons per day, every day. It’s a good thing overdone to the extreme until it becomes toxic.

Then you have the Swedish school system. There really is no nice way to put it; it’s a complete disaster. The minister of education is a man-boy who spends his time making Youtube-videos showing heart-signs with his hands to boost school results, while university-level students can’t read and comprehend the course literature.

Education minister Gustav Fridolin
Since there is a delay in the changes in the school system, it is only in recent years the full impact of the knowledge-averse “progressive” school system is starting to be felt. Hard facts are largely irrelevant; the important thing is to sit in a group and discuss things until a consensus is reached. But with no hard facts to base the conclusions on, it becomes an exercise in futility because it’s all random assumptions and opinions. As a university-level history student (!) was quoted as saying in newspaper Svenska Dagbladet the other day: “Why would all these dates matter? Who cares in what order things happened?”

That’s not exactly fertile soil for creating the researchers and engineers of the future.

Financially, Sweden is an oddity in that it never had its real estate correction when Lehman Bros went belly-up and the housing market everywhere in the West crashed. Sweden just kept steaming ahead, which means housing is ridiculously overinflated. In Stockholm, the real estate prices increased 19% and in Gothenburg 24% in the last 12 months alone — from an already sky-high level.

Tear-down abandoned house from 1932 with small, unremarkable lot in the outskirts of Stockholm. Current bid: 7,5 million SEK, or close to $900,000.

As a result, personal debt of the Swedish population is at an all-time high. To keep all this afloat the normal mortgage interest rates are at 2% with central bank Riksbanken at -0,25%, and yet a significant portion of the borrowers are hanging by a thread. If and when foreign banks and investors decide it’s time to turn their backs on Sweden (as happened in the early 1990s) there’s going to be a lot of pain.

Then you have the financial obligations going forward. Like much of the western world, there is a demographic change where fewer tax-paying adults are to support a glut of retirees. What makes it especially dire for Sweden is that in addition to the old Swedes, there’s also a ton of elderly immigrants that are granted “family visas” based on younger relatives having been granted asylum. They’ve never paid a dime in taxes, yet enter the system with full benefits from day one. In theory, this would be made up for by the younger relatives working and paying taxes. Sadly, this is not the case; while ethnical Swedes have a 82% employment rate, immigrants only have 57% with non-Europeans coming in at just 51%.

If Sweden was a person, it’d be like the guy with three mortgages, seven maxed-out credit cards and four collection agencies chasing him that just signed a lease for a brand new BMW X6. Simply put, there’s a lot of red ink in the future; it just hasn’t been fully realized yet.

Finally, there’s the sorry state of the Swedish defense. After decades of constant slashing of the defense budget, the extent of Swedish ambition is to stall an invader for a week in a limited area. This with war raging in Europe, Russian missiles pointed at Sweden in Kaliningrad, and Russian submarines and bomber jets openly thumbing their nose at Sweden as they intrude on Swedish territory on a regular basis. The power vacuum in Scandinavia is so tangible you can almost hear a sucking sound as you fly over it. This, too, will require massive investments when the penny finally drops amongst Swedish politicians.

So while I can’t claim to be any kind of authority on macroeconomics or social predictive models, I see red lights across the board.

In some ways, I’d compare the country to a farm. Previously, Sweden acted like a sensible farmer and planted wheat here, carrots there, potatoes over there et cetera, by implementing free schooling, sound infrastructure investments, state-financed research and so forth. A few decades later, they reaped the rewards and climbed the prosperity ladder.

In the late 1960s, this pragmatic line was abandoned as leftist idealist Olof Palme took over. But there was plenty to harvest from previous years, so Sweden continued to be the land of milk and honey for a good long while. Then things started drying up, and the process has been one of gradual erosion and decline since the 1990s.

The famous Swedish health care system is a good example. 120 000 hospital beds in the late 1960s became 20 000 today. Cancer patients are put on waiting lists for months. Entire emergency wards shut down for summer. The crumbling Swedish railroad system is another symptom I examined in-depth last year. The aforementioned defense that now consist of about three fat generals and a rusty rifle (bullets withheld for budgetary reasons).

A sensible farmer would see the problems for what they are and hurry to plant new seeds, so as to return to bountiful harvests of wheat, carrots, potatoes etc. Instead, the Swedish politicians goes by dogma and plants what they think SHOULD grow. So they plant M & Ms, hot dogs and pretzels. The results won’t be fully evident for a few years yet, but as the last reserves of the old harvests are depleted, things will get… Interesting.

From what I can see, there simply is no plausible scenario where these social tensions and future financial committments will not lead to a downward spiral of hardship and strife. I hope I’m wrong. I really do, because I have friends and family I care about that will remain here to see it all play out.

But I won’t. I’ll be back in the US being mad at Obama for being a lying scumbag. And if Trump manages to get elected in 2016? Whoo boy. A racist ignoramus who takes pride in the worst qualities of a cranky eight-year old should make George “Dumbo” Bush seem like Abe Lincoln by comparison. So every country has its problems. USA has its corrupt yokel in office, just as Sweden has Stefan Löfven.

I’d like to thank you for having followed this blog and your many insightful comments. It’s been a wild ride at times with heated debates, but it’s been fun — even when I got hatemail from both left-wingers and right-wingers over the same article. 🙂

So thank you, and good luck whereever you are.

      • If the majority of Swedes were to grow “a pair” & resort to righteous violence…so as to eliminate the threats to their genome & culture, maybe your country could be salvaged & eventually recover…ditto America too!

That said, you’re destined to racial extinction…or a bloody CIVIL WAR…likely w/ the same outcome!

Advice: ..find out “WHO(what tribe)” you’re NOT ALLOWED to criticize…& begin taking the shitheads out…you’d be surprised how quickly life will become agreeable!!!

        Good Luck…..

      • It’s those baggy pantaloons they wear–If they need to poop, they don’t go to a toilet, they just go in their pantaloons and empty them at the end of the day…or, not…

    • You are totaly wrong, sweden is going down..the jihads and isis will take over in a few years. and its not gonna be even you turks should run for your lifes -that is if your not allready an isis member..
      have a terrible day -looser

    • So you are angry at him because turkey sucks?
keep electing that idiot to be PM and keep going muslim, forcing people to pray in the street on your stupid carpets.
Turkey use to be a heaven, a place for turists to come and enjoy cheap quality things, now its a place ISIS people stop by on the way to kill other people.

    • Sounds like whats happening here too .
Mr Turkey, you obviously left for a reason !
As to your deluded comment on a perceived mirage , keep dreaming .Good luck and you will deserve what happens to you while you dream $$$$$$$$$!

    • VOTE for #BernieSanders2016 and you won’t have the problem of the narcissist bigot or the Bush idiot replay. Let’s hope we can keep America from looking much like your prediction of Sweden. I live in Australia, but came from Texas. A good friend of mine came to Australia from Sweden in 1990 to live. America need a lot of change too for the people to prosper and have adequate healthcare. Hope it does for my family’s sake.

      • You’ve got to be kidding? Bernie Sanders wants the U.S. to be exactly like Sweden, not as it was, but as it is becoming. His hypocrisy is problematic as well, he is all for oppressed minorities in the U.S. but has no problem with attacking Palestinians as the problem if it is a question of Israel. Good Lord.

      • You are predictably incoherent. you espouse Bernie sanders who is the soul of Sweden’s problems discussed in this article. Now go look up the word “Contradictory” and then go ask an Australian for advice on how to deal with illegal immigration.

      • Bernie Sanders? You are the epitome of the American living abroad. I’ve observed that Americans in Australia (there aren’t many) are always idiot lefties, not the more sensible conservatives. Do us a favour and go home to your family.

  1. Even here in Finland the leftist media is trying to paint a picture that the current situation of Sweden is a worthy goal and we should strive towards it, whatever the cost.

    • What makes him xenophobe? Providing several numbers without quoting sources along with mentioning immigrants along with ignorant politicians unstable social system and horrible public finances? I would certainly have a look on source of the numbers but i am far for calling this xenophobic. And no i am not Swedish.

      Liked by 1 person

      • He calls him a xenophobe because that is what liberals/socialist do when confronted with a preponderance of facts, they result to personal attacks with some of the favorites being “racist’, “homophobe” and the aforementioned “xenophobe”. The last breaths of dying socialistic utopia.

      • My bigotry is of the sharpest obsidian, it is my defense against attacks from the Bronze Age.

      • What I strongly mean is that when me make “xenophobia is bad” an axiom, it becomes a moral rule that dominates all situations. The political Left will use it to bash all its enemies in all situations.

Maybe it is not sane to act hostile to every foreigner one encounters, but the opposite is also not healthy.

The Left wants to make indiscriminate xenophilia a moral good, which is just insane and furthermore dangerous.

What is needed is balanced thinking with no moral absolutes.

    • xenophobe????
He’s seen what you apparently cannot! Better wake the f**k up!
BishopVergerus?? Then you’ll be one of the first to die when IS comes to your neighbourhood!

    • “Xenophobe” Ohh a big word for such a fool. What is happening in Sweden is simply an escalation of what is happening all through out the west as the parasite Muslims flood into it and start their blood sucking. You are either a Muslims or a leftist and the latter now is defined as “moron”.

      Liked by 1 person

    • And you are a naive dumbass! Sweden will miss any realistic, true swede who’s leaving this sinking ship. You are a danger to your self and others…

    • What did he say that makes him look like a xenophobe? The complaint that the country is TOO LAX on immigration? What he complains about is the country’s granting assylum to everyone at the drop of a hat.

      Liked by 1 person

    • Ah, it’s uplifting to read the left’s willingness to debate on substance, It’s cute the way you have such faith in the magical powers of the word “xenophobe.” You probably get a lot of mileage out of “racist” and “Islamophobe.”

  2. I’ve read in usually reliable blog sites that the wonderful African/Middle Eastern/Muslim immigration push, started about 40 years ago to increase “diversity” in the country has made Sweden the rape capital of Europe. A good percentage of victims are under 15 years old too or so I hear. Any comments? Is this true? I hope not.

    Liked by 4 people

    • There’s two schools of thought on the question.

Left-wingers will say this is because Sweden has much more lax definitions of rape. A hand on your leg or a macho remark might be reported as rape.

Right-wingers will say every reported rape in Sweden is a true rape and the situation is apocalyptic due to immigrants.

The truth is likely between those extremes. Rape has climbed since the immigration flood, and at the same time it is overreported.

      • A hand on your leg or a macho remark is not considered as a rape – not even in Sweden.
The broader definition of rape in Sweden is for instance that if a 16-year old boy sleeps with a 14-year old girl (even if she is his longterm girlfriend and agrees) then can be convicted for rape.
Another example is Julian Assange who slept with a woman who wanted safe sex – and he did not use a condom – that can also be considered to be rape according to Swedish law.

      • per bengtsson, the first type of “rape” that you described exists on the books in many other countries. In Canada and the US, it’s called “statutory rape”. The second type you described isn’t classed as rape in other jurisdictions that I know of, though it could qualify as sexual assault, though proving it would be hard.

    Thank you very much!

    • Jag tackar också! I thank you as well. I understand what my mother and her family saw developing in Sweden in the 50s, 60s and 70s, why they left and never went back, never encouraged me to get daul citizenship. Recently I had been thinking of bringing my family to visit, but it sounds like Sweden is no longer the place I visited as a child.

  4. I’m in the same boat as you. I was born in Norway but raised in the U.S. only to move back to Norway as a young adult to do college here.

Norway isn’t as bad as Sweden, but I see a lot of what you’re talking about in varying degrees already happening. For each year that passes, Norway becomes less and less Norwegian. Crime rates are steadily rising, housing cost (both rental and purchase) are out of the reach for many while immigrants get ample benefits for simply being immigrants.

A local business that was in business since 1962 closed its doors last year because they couldn’t afford to pay the increasing rent. Know who took over the shops locale? Muslims, not second or third generation, but first generation “straight off the boat”. Another Norwegian business gone down the drain and another Muslim business popped up. (Which is extremely common here.)

I’m moving back to the U.S. either at the end of this year, early or mid next. America has its fair share of problems, but at least I can afford to pay rent AND own a car there.

    God tur!

  5. Sad to agree with this sentiment.

My real question is, how is mass immigration multiculturalism? If we continue this trend we’re apt for fewer cultures, not more. A world where cities in Japan, Germany, and New York all look the same. Shiny soulless skyscrapers with neon commercials everywhere. The mass displacement of people erases the culture of the small villages and the traditions they kept everywhere. The immigrants abandon their villages with centuries of tradition for a 1 bed apartment and a job at taco bell, while the natives are forced to close the shop the great grandfather opened because rent rose so much.

As someone who would like to travel the world once I finish my schooling, I would like there to be some cultures left to explore and I’m not particularly fond of big cities to begin with.

If you want to call me racist or xenophobic, so be it. You’re only doing that in an attempt to discredit a completely valid argument and demoralize me.

    • Actually, if mass immigration continues in Europe – there wont be any shiny towers or shiny anything. There will be lots and lots of muslims though and as proved everywhere else in the world, where islam goes, destruction, death, violence and hatred follow.
In the UK, when muslims discuss taking over Britain – which of course is their goal in every land and why they are flooding every land as immigrants, (ever notice how many males there are and how many females there AREN’T amongst these so call immigrants), the first point of business, apart from enslaving or killing all non-muslims is destroying all the buildings.
Sigh ….. destruction and murder abound so NO …. no shiny apartments or tall towers – if the mass immigration of muslims from the ME continues – and that would be quite the shame.
Japan however, will continue with their shiny towers and skyscrapers because they have a no Islam policy!!!

  6. I am Swedish-American aerospace scientist having left Sweden for California and work with the US Space program in 1963.
    I visit Sweden regularly.
Sweden has its share of problems, just like the rest of the world.
It is still one of the best countries in the world, honest people, fair taxes, great programs for children and the elderly, way better than USA and any other country.
Right now Sweden is facing severe problems due to excessive immigration, having accepted 17 times more immigrants than the Europe per capita average. The Sweden Democrats (SD) now suggesting the reduce immigration by 90% will bring the immigration to 1.7 times the per capita Europe average seems logical.
Sweden has 7 or 8 political parties, many of the balancing near the 4% limit for parliament participation. Need to reduce to 3 or max 4 parties, simply accomplished by raising the current 4% limit to 6% or 8%.

The article paints an unfair negative picture of Sweden today.
In a world choked by problems, Sweden and its Nordic neighbors still stand out as great and fair places to live!

  7. Stop being agressive towards French revolution, Rosa Luxemburg, Marx, October revolution, the Reds, The Russians, the liberals, the hippies ect. They all might be ignorant, stupid sometimes, but all of that is a european heritage and they are not brutal towards the political competition, that’s for sure. Make a distinction between the left and the islamofascists. The left will probably soon be unite with the freedom lovers against the religious fascists. That has happened in the recent past. For example, the greatest reactionists of the islamofascist turkish president are practicaly-the left,so I know what I m talking about. The tax paying system is a vital question for our lifes, but still a banality for the issue of the fight against fascism.

  8. This is truly an excellent post but I don’t agree with everything. I believe that the immigration wave towards the more developed countries in Europe is something that costs many problems but it is something that can’t be stopped and the governments are not prepared to deal with it as it is relatively new topic. In London is the same as in Stockholm.. there are extremely many immigrants and many things are not the same as 20-30 years ago but the system and the people are adjusting. Isn’t in America multicultural, too? I think that Sweden is a great country and you should try to look at all the issues you’ve listed on the bright side, because there sure is. Good luck with moving back and all the best!

  9. What you don’t seem to understand is that, the true problem that Sweden has is the mind sett of its population. The mind sett that created the Swedish welfare structure is gone. Ironically due to the same welfare system. Not unlike children of rich hard working parents turn out to be deadbeats.

Sweden is ranked 4th from the bottom among 201 countries with the least entrepreneurial inclination amongst its population. That is a ticking time bomb and that is the true reason behind the swedish emigration policy.

Immigrants in Sweden are 2-3 times more likely to start a company that hires 3 ppl. and that an immigrant that comes to Sweden at the age of 20 and sponges of the government for 10 years is a less financial burden to the swedish welfare system then if somebody was born there.
If you add those two facts together you start to understand why a right winged government would have such a generous immigration policy.
Now the problem arises when politicians have to address this issue, because they cant come out and say that they value an immigrant more then some one thats born there, because no one would vote for them.

So in other words, if the Swedish welfare system is to survive the next 30 years, it needs to increase its immigration rate by 50%…

    • What you said about immigrants in Sweden being more likely to start small businesses and are less economically lazy also reigns true in the U.S.

    • “Immigrants” Are you saying the recent Muslim immigrants are more likely to …? I think you have no statistics about what Muslim immigrants will do or have done. I could very well be wrong, but you have not published anything that relates to the recent humongous influx of Muslim immigrants or how they have assimilated into your society.

  10. I feel sorry for Sweden Report in particular and for all the readers of the blog. Sweden is going down the drain, that’s a fact. Who’s to blame? First of all the Swedes themselves! At any time, they could choose to halt the enormous influx of Moslems. But an extraordinary mixture of shame (WW2), self-hate, and a strange wish to become a multicultural state do the scenery. – And those invited were the uttermost despised: the Moslems. They play another game in cards and the mild and generous Scandinavian people cannot handle a rough and backward people as the Arabs. – So all in all Sweden is finished as we know it. The country will turn into a place with all the diseases of the Arab Middle East: corruption, brutality, hierarchy, sloppiness, unjust, and filth. Well, the Swedes seem not to care – for now. But what an awakening?!

  11. I hear IKEA has a great deal on knifes in Sweden. Just for the taking. Just ask any islamic terrorist waiting for his asylum status from Sweden for instance, the one that beheaded and stabbed 2 people in IKEA. Ya, Sweden sounds like a great place.

  12. I couldn’t agree more, excellent article!!

I’ve lived in Sweden my entire life and I can assure you I’ll most probably take the same path and leave, due to the fact that the situation only will become much worse., if we know anything about economics,. it’s going to collapse, It’s inevitable.

Sweden has become a country without an identity., where the naiv and poorly educated run the show”

    • I`m really pissed off with you Swedes. Do you see what you have done? You wrecked Scandinavia!! Your crap is spilling over the border into my beloved Norway, land of freedom and awesomeness. You wrecked Sweden and Norway, damn you all. Swedish morons, you`re so gullebal and nice I just want to slap you all in the face. At least we norwegians still have working brains.

      • You are all being too hard on the Swedes. After all, they gave us IKEA. Oh, wait a minute, isn’t that where some muslim terrorist just beheaded a Swede and knifed her kid to death? IN AN IKEA STORE; with IKEA KNIVES?

  13. I`m in Norway and soon running away too. Those damn swedes screwed up badly, they`re so nice they are what we call stupid-nice. Both Norway and Sweden are now in the process of completly destroying themselfes. In the name of kindness. Gotta help the worlds refugees, send all of them over here to Sweden. F****** swedes……Scandinavia was so nice, I grew up here, been here for 40 years, 20 years ago it was paradise on earth. Now it`s shit. The politicians compete to take care of people from other countris, while the people who are born and raised here are forgotten. The rest of the world is the number one priority, number two is ourselfes. That doesn`t work, never has. God d**** swedes…..they started this, and Germany, damn them too. Well, I`m off to a small hidden island far away from all you morons. Good luck, you`ll need it when your country is a burning heap of crap.

  14. I visited Sweden a few months back . I was hoping to get some relief from the mad ethnic hell hole the UK has become. To my horror, the situation appears to be worse in Sweden! I didn’t even feel like i was in Scandinavian country. There were gangs of ethnic Turks, Syrians, Somalians and other African’s Indian’s, east Asian’s, all types of Arabs, east European’s etc. They were acting in there typical uncivilized ways. It was such a surreal feeling. It felt liek i wasn’t in Sweden, but in some futuristic country where there is no national identity or native ethnic race. I was in a country that had every race in there own little world. A country that had a 100 countries inside it. So sad. P.S the Swedes that i did see were so beautiful looking. Both men and women.

  15. Well done Sweden ! You complete and utter left wing socialist fu&@ing idiots ! . Thanks to you and people like you , Europe is collapsing . You don’t let the whole world in to your tribe and completely destroy it . Do you hate yourself ? It seems like all do gooder left wing types really hate white people .

  16. Seems to me Sweden is going up, not down. When housing prices are going up it means people are moving there, and people want to live there. If you want to know what going down means, just look at Detroit in the USA.

  17. I agree completely. On the other hand , if these liberal types want to save the world then let everyone in . Don’t start complaining when you lose your job and the standard of living goes down and everyone is left poorer for it. Don’t keep complaining about the price of property and overcrowding in schools and hospitals and no money left in the pot when you retire because it has all been taken to support people have never paid a penny into the system .

  18. According to this article, Sweden is a real basket case. Apparently the only reason that country hasn’t completely imploded is because every mega-rich war profiteer, drug lord, tyrant and oil-rich terrorist leader on the planet hides his loot in the banks there. Ain’t Socialism grand? The USA is currently fighting to survive the most incompetent president in our history, but it sure beats living in a place like Sweden.

  19. It pains me to think what Europe will look like in fifty years, or even thirty years for that matter. Then again, when I look at how Europe reacts occurrences in other places, especially in the Middle East, I can only say that Europeans have only themselves to blame.

  20. The problem is that immigrants forget they have a moral obligation, and that NOTHING IN LIFE IS FREE.. If I come to a new country that opens its arms to me and my family, I need to keep in mind that I must respect its traditions and its people, and that I must contribute to its wealth. I can share my own traditions, but I need to understand IT IS NOT MY HOME, AND IT IS THE LOCAL TRADITIONS THAT MUST PREVAIL. But immigrants are never taught this, and any attempt of a native to express this sort of idea is immediately crucified by the media as xenophobe and racist. Unfortunately politicians, instead of developing plans to fight multiculturalism, prefer to shut up on the matter, and are always ready to sell their country if it means they will gain a few votes.. Sweden, Du gamla Du fria, I pray for your future, and for the whole Europe’s too…

    • Perhaps Sweden should have withheld weapons made for the destruction of the countries the immigrants are coming from. They played a part in their own destruction by participating in the destruction of other countries.
Unless this article is wrong, of course:

Sweden is in fact the third largest arms exporter per capita after Israel and Russia. Swedish company, Saab, makes more than 50 percent of the weapons the country exports. While the Swedish government often takes a neutral position in international conflicts and offers assistance through peacekeeping missions and foreign aid, it has continued to send military equipment to regimes accused of human rights abuses, including Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Bahrain and Egypt. We speak with two guests: peace activist Martin Smedjeback, who has served three prison sentences for breaking into weapons factories and hammering on weapons meant for export, and with Anna Ek, president of Swedish Peace and Arbitration Society, the world’s oldest peace organization. Ek says that while Sweden signed the global Arms Trade Treaty earlier this year, it has resisted incorporating anti-corruption provisions into the country’s own laws.

      • P. Hanson, thank you, thank you, thank you. I find the outrage expressed by Europeans here extremely ironic. It would be really funny if it wasn’t so sad to witness their pain. But, I need to say this: to people in Europe, I’m sorry, but you’ve simply been bitten on the arse by your very own apathy. So you mourn that the human demographic and cultural fabric of the land you grew up in has changed? Guess what, those people have arrived on your shores for the very same reason! In the case of war, that is. In the case of economic migrants, because of the crushing poverty and economic exploitation your nations are party to having their nations live under. Where were you when Libya was being decimated? The Libyan leader was all set to provide a monetary system for Africa to help alleviate their financial enslavement from debt. You were probably munching on your dinners and repeating “Bloody dictator” as your media told you to do, while Ghadaffi was being murdered. Why should you care? It’s “Them”. Did you do any more research? Where were you in the case of Iraq, Afghanistan, and more recently, Syria? Do you really think the scenario of these desperate people seeking a place where they can survive just happened like that? If so, why now? Answer me: why now, all of a sudden? I’m sorry, but for decades you’ve looked away while your media justified spurious reasons for your nations to either sell arms to attackers of, or directly join coalitions to attack and destabilise Middle Eastern regimes on your doorstep. Regimes your governments didn’t like. Or, to remove African and other leaders in the developing world who wanted to help their people, replacing them with ruthless dictators. But whoops, when the people of these nations who seek survival turn up on your doorstep – so they can live – you spit your dummy and take off. So they have to be characterised as slackers and spongers. Have you read up on the struggles by first generation migrants to any culture? How long it takes for people to find their feet and adapt? Have you taken the time to speak to any foreigner in your country who is struggling to find a foot hold? You guys have NO idea how closed off the Swedish system is (for example), in opening up the job market to foreigners. You have NO idea.

To conclude, it’s about survival, folks. It should have started ages ago, but it’s about time you realise we’re all in this together, wherever you were born. Your elected officials destroy somebody’s livelihood in one way or another, guess what, you remove them in the next election or else, those they have displaced might just end up next door to you. That person is as much of a victim as you. If there really is a conspiracy to de-homogenise the world, then the only people laughing are the architects; all the way to their NWO headquarters.

Imagine, wouldn’t it be funny if the original poster (sorry, my first time here – got here through a link on, got a negative reaction in America because he is a foreigner “coming to take Americans’ jobs”? Yeah, yeah, I know he’s lived in the US before. But, wouldn’t that be really ironic?

  21. For centuries the U.S. benefitted from the fact that Europe excelled at driving her religious, ethnic and political minorities out of the continent. We took them in, assimilated them, and built a strong, but imperfect, nation, but not without some considerable growing pains along the way. We’ve been lectured to by the fancy pants Europeans who looked down on our “gun culture” and our capitalist growth, and have to suffer with numbskulls like Bernie Sanders who point to Sweden of the 1960s as a model for 21st Century America. Now Europe finds itself on the receiving end of massive migration, and an outdated system of socialism that is straining the bank. Sit back with some popcorn, America, and watch how the mother continent deals with it all.

  22. Hi, your post is spot on but you do not see your own hypocrisy. You correctly identify the immigration jihadists occurring in Europe, actually it is genocide of the indigenous peoples of Europe at the hands of progressives. Yet Trump points out correctly the major issues with criminals invading our country from central America,, you call him racist? No I don’t think so. You better pray that he is elected, because if the globalist keep control the USA is also going down with mass Muslim and third world immigration. Sorry about Sweden, that frog is cooked.

  23. Article is exceptionally well written of the present facts of the international demise initiated by UN, WHO, etc.

Know the church in last few decades has been doing much ‘book burning’ of Swedish literature. Including native plants, uses & remedies, farming methods that may differ on any side of mountain or valley, and the UN initiated ‘collective’ farmers have not a clue what to do, so shortages of local food sources are already occurring. Collective farming methods already proven dismal failure in other nations, leaving populace starving in some and need of expensive imports to survive in others.
Many other literary pieces also destroyed and they are ‘re-writing Sweden’ already, no doubt.

However, was Sweden ever so ideal once? In the illusion of the childhood of some survivors perhaps?

I certainly wish luck and much love to the Swedish survivors and the new lab rat immigrants too.

  24. Brilliant analysis.
Thank you for your personal and professional input.
Too many Americans are falling for the Socialist trap.
    We’re just a few years behind Sweden….

  25. Sad, but not only Sweden, all of Europe is on it’s way to a miserable end. Having let in huge groups of mostly uneducated people whose culture and religion celebrate death and misogeny, who have come from places they say they hate and cannot live in any longer, who
    are undocumented, who are
    often unskilled and even more
often not anxious to work, and who complain about what is given to them, and riot when they do not get what they want.
Then, they do all they can to
change the place to which they
have come into the place from
    which they escaped because they
hated it. They are offended by
    everything. They are also highly
    offensive and ought to be
    thrown out. Olitical correctness
has gone too far. These people
    are presumptuous assholes. If
they pull this crap they need to
be removed. Finito. Adios. Problem solved.

  26. I read the original blog (goodbye Sweden) with considerable genuine sadness. I have read a considerable number of the subsequent comments that complements many of the issues expressed in the original blog. I’m even sadder now!

Let me explain why. I am an Englishman who lived in Sweden in the later sixties and early seventies. I really loved Sweden and still do. Every time I arrive in Stockholm I see my wonderful friends and think I have emotionally arrived back home. When I lived in Sweden I learned to speak the language reasonably well (still do after a day or two), I never had any English speaking friends at all ever – all my friends and a couple of Finns and very importantly, I never criticised Sweden in any way. I certainly would have been much too proud to have claimed any state benefits. I enjoyed all the Swedish culture, the mentality, the countryside, the winter sports – in fact the whole ethos. Heja Sverige! I can say it was a life changing experience in my life, made me a much more rounded person and consider it was a great privilege to have had so many good times there.

I have been back many many times during the last forty four years. However, during the last two summer’s it has become very evident that ‘things’ have changed but not for the better. The chattering classes of Swedish society are now defensive and alarmed. Since September 2014 when the far left socialist government has come to power, these people feel that Sweden is in a headlong dive to disaster that they have no influence or power to change course. They see their whole culture and mentality being swept aside and replaced with another that is completely alien to them. Now the indigenous population is rapidly feeling very threatened and obviously very resentful. I can say that I do not blame them because we have had more or less exactly the same situation in England but this really started to get going earnestly thirty years ago. Last year (2014) we had over 600,000 new arrivals to the shores of our small country! We are concerned that the new arrivals to Germany will soon gain an EU passport then come to the UK. We are nearly all saying we are FULL but the EU is not listening. Sweden needs to observe very carefully what has happened in the UK and react before it is too late.

I shall always have a very emotional love affair with Sweden but I am really concerned what the next ten years will bring to Sweden and it true indigenous population.

  27. The reason why this has happened to Sweden and is happening to so many other Western countries is because those countries have let women run things. Diversity, political correctness and multiculturalism were not engineered by secret societies to subvert Europe as conspiracy theories claim but are constantly being promoted by women because that is what their female biology compels them to do. Why wasn’t this happening earlier in history? Because women didn’t have much power earlier in history. Now that they do because they have risen to positions of powers in academia, law, television and elsewhere, they can define culture. Mainly promote Marxism, metrosexuals, feminism, cultural diversity and gay rights. They fight all things male including the nation state, the police and the military. Manginas have joined them because, lacking Alpha behavior, they think that by sucking up to them, that will get them laid. That’s the truth my friends. Here in Greece most women voted Left and feel more compassion for immigrants than about Greeks. It’s the same all over the world. Estrogen is taking over. At least now you have an explanation for why what’s happening is happening.

    • You are absolutely correct, and I have been saying this all along. When one of the most visible women in Sweden says that immigrants aren’t the problem, the Swedish majority are the problem, it’s time to change the government. In their zeal to nourish, protect, and defend who they percieve as the needy of the world, these women are simply ordering their native people to give their country away, and in a few years, when the disaster of this immature, misguided “leadership” is fully apparent, they will complain that it’s because the Swedish people just aren’t accepting enough of natural world “migration.”

A socialist nanny state is bad enough in that it makes citizens into accepting automatons, never questioning the state. But then if women are in control at the near exclusion of men, that is the making of a perfect storm of a domineering parent with complacent, unquestioning children who, when the government goes south as Sweden’s has, the citizens simply resign themselves to their inevitable fate. They have no idea how to fight back.
